Thank you from Mom’s Day Out

Dear Friends of Thumbuddy Special….

I just wanted to send along to you the thank yous that we received from the Mom’s Day Out on November 6th. It was a very emotional day for these special moms. When you have a child with Autism, it is very difficult socially. The general public does not know that your child has a disability by looking at them. A child who is in a wheelchair or looks different, the family is given empathy, or more emotional support. Where if your child “acts out” in public, people are less understanding and more judgmental. There were many tears of comfort that special day. Thank you for making these mom’s feel loved not judged. As stated before, it is my favorite event that Thumbuddy Special Sponsors.

A thousand thank you’s for such a special day that you gave me. I enjoyed it so much and felt so honored that you would dedicate this day to me. Although I confess that I did miss my children a little, I know they were fine with their dad.

I don’t have words to express how good I felt this whole day. I felt like we were a big family. We went to a nice restaurant that never in my life had I been to, and I never could imagine coming into such a wonderful atmosphere with such wonderful people. God fills us with blessings and He will return to you all that you have done for us.

With much joy, good wishes, and blessings,
A thousand thanks,
Veronica Gomez

Hello, (POEM)

In the path of my life, I have had heartbreak, and joyful people that guided me, both to make me better each day.

Each morning, I inject myself with energy, but it’s with people like you all that my life shines with happiness.

Today I feel like a star whose joy shines and it’s because of you all that I am filled with such energy.

Time will pass, so quickly or so slowly, but in my heart I will always remember this.

I am very thankful for this day that you all gave me to feel such happiness. It was the first day that I went out alone from the house to a store. Thank you for your help with what you gave me to buy clothes and to eat so richly. This organization is a blessing for us who have so many needs—for people to understand us and tohelp us get out of this loneliness in which we find ourselves.

Many, many thanks for your help!

My name is Rosie and I have a special daughter. Thank you to all of the people who donated and that are helping our children and us as well. With all my heart thank you so much for all that you do. May God give you much and above all health today, tomorrow and always, and all the desires of your heart.

The day of November 6, 2011 was a very special day for me because I was able to express all that I had inside of me and found that all of those with us had the same cases and could also express their feelings about their special children. And today I realized that I am not alone and more people are in the same situation as me. I truly want to thank you, and may God take care of you with many blessings. For all who remembered those of us who have children with disabilities, thank you!

Today has been one of the best days I’ve had for a very long time. I had a day “off” from being the Caretaker. Instead, I was taken care of! I met 11 amazing women. We shared more than a day of pampering – we shared stories of life with autism. We shared heartbreak and triumphs. I hope we stay in touch.

Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for a wonderful Mom’s Day Out. It really meant a lot to me to spend the day with other moms in my community that understand the struggles and joys of what I experience each day. I am very thankful to have met the women and have heard the stories that I did today. It was also really nice to have a day to focus on myself. A real and rare treat!

Thank You
Jennifer

Mom’s Day Out provided me with an unexpected and fun break from my normal day. It also exposed me to a group of mothers who struggle with similar challenges as well as those who are struggling in ways that are beyond heart breaking. I am eternally grateful for your generosity and for the insight the opportunity festered.

Thank you
Martha

Thank you so much for the incredible day I shared with mom’s in my community. To share a day with people that understand me and my son feels wonderful. Our village that we’ve created for our son has widened. Every time I share our story/journey, I feel more and more empowered. Thank you for allowing me to share our story and connect with more people.
